We decided to take a little family road trip to Niagara Falls. It's only a 7 hour drive and we just had the best time on our little getaway. It was a celebration of both of our birthdays, our 2 year wedding anniversary and Grayson turning 13 months old! I was concerned how Grayson would do in the car for that long but he did so well!! He slept most of the time and then played with his toys and ate his snacks while he was awake. We stopped and took a few breaks along the way so that Grayson could nurse/be loved on and so that we could stretch out a bit. We stayed at the Hilton and once we arrived at the hotel Grayson ran straight to the huge window to look out. We had such a gorgeous view of the falls from our room and the casino lit up in lights across the street, he was in heaven. We did so many fun activities while we were there. We took a bus tour around Niagara to Journey Behind the Falls & then a boat ride on the Hornblower, which is an absolute must do!! We had dinner at the top of Skylon Tower in their revolving dining room on Rich's actual birthday and then drove to Niagara on the Lake, which is on Lake Ontario about 30 minutes from where we were staying. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Niagara on the Lake has about 20+ wineries so the view is just phenomenal with all of the vineyards and local orchards. It is such a beautiful little town and is just so charming and reminds me a lot of Charleston! We took a carriage ride around the meticulously cared for streets, got THE BEST ice cream and visited a local winery for a tasting. We had the most delicious dinner at The Oban Inn and I will forever dream of their Coconut Thai Curry soup! They have the cutest little shops and when we came across Hatley, I of course had to snatch up a pair of matching Canadian onesies! ;-) It was so nice to have the extra one-on-one time together as a family and Grayson just loved being spoiled rotten from his Daddy!
